The Vadurkin

Strength built from strife. Axes will fall, shields will splinter, the ground will run red.

For as long as anyone can remember, the Vadurkin have been the Lords of the North. The harsh landscape created a people as hardy as the mountains they call home. To most outsiders they are little more than barbarians and raiders, those who know better see them for their complex culture of warriors, hunters, craftspeople, and storytellers.

Following the arrival of the Hadrians in the March, the Vadurkin descended into civil war. This Kinstrife, as it became to be known, tore through the North for a decade. Wishing an end to the violence, and in the face of numerous new threats, the Vadurkin elected their first Konurgr in a century, Geir of the Magtvaeg Clan. Under new leadership and with renewed vigor, the proud people of the North re-entered the new international stage that is the March.

Meet your Out-of-Game Leadership

  • Lucas T. [Runar]

    Culture Lead

  • Steph Glore [Olin Urusebo]

    Culture Lieutenant

Hailing currently from Knoxville, TN, I am a corporate worker by day and artist by night. My professional background is diverse, starting as a lifeguard, moving to restaurants then to retail, and eventually corporate life. I've been behind a desk for most of a decade now, it's boring but I have gained many valuable skills to share through that experience. In my free time, I pursue my passions. Currently the Vadurkin dominate that category, in the past I have been a gunsmith and competitive shooter, ridden horses competitively in various disciplines, Production Manager for Knox Pride, award winning Technical Director and Lighting Designer focusing on burlesque and drag, and I have a drinking horn shop I run on occasion. Day to day my most important job is to love and take care of my 3 dogs, an elderly cowboy corgie and two loud and cuddly beagles. Coming across Reckoning from Skill Tree and the maker community, 2024 was my first year attending and consequently my first LARP experience. The community enthralled me and I'm excited to be a part of leadership for the Vadurkin, the Free People of the North.

In game, Olin Urusebo. A bit wild, a bit weird, and all the way proud Vadurkin. He was born of no known parents, having been found as a toddler along with his twin sister Margrethe in a recently vacated bear den. The Crone Bjornske took the children to Moon's Rise and was instructed to raise them in the manner of all Vadurkin orphans who show magical talent. Near the age of 5, Bjornske took a place as a Sacred Tree Tender and Moose Herder Crone for Clan Rodinnjar and took the twins with her. From then, she guided their magical training as the children of Crones and let them run amuck in Rodinnjar to find a place among the people. House Stoneshaper was quick to welcome talented children and soon adopted us with the blessings of Bjornske. From then, the twins began to grow into their separate strengths. Olin's greatest talents lying in Divination, Healing, and Leadership. Raised between the Crone Temples and the hunter culture of Clan Rodinnjar, Olin grew up with many of the now great leaders of the Vadurkin. During the Kinstryfe, Olin's divination was key to Rodinnjar strategies and he was elevated to Jarl Gunleif's personal Shaman and adopted to House Bearheart. He came first to the March in 1024, as the eyes of his Jarl, to investigate the Arbiters and Malice. Olin participated in several rituals that year and heard loudly Eerika's calling to finally take his Crone trials. Present at the Battle of Divinfalls, Olin found a fire lit in his bones to ensure the strength and security of the Free North. Returning to the March, Olin is once again called to divine for the good of the North, this time for Geir - Konurgr of the Vadurkin as Augr Crone - Third Eye of the Konurgr. Joining his longtime friend Runar, they are reunited for the good of the people and under the bright sliver light of Eerika's blessings.

  • Jake Little [Torbjorn]

    Culture Lieutenant

Torbjorn is played by Jake Little, who has been role playing in various degrees for the past twenty years. A hillbilly from East Tennessee, he lives with two insane German shepards and the love of his life who does her best to reign in his impulsive need to buy more armor.

In game, Torbjorn of Clan Voldsom is the son of Thane Uthred, and brother to Jarl Bjorn Hardstriker. An infamous layabout, yet fierce combatant and raider, Torbjorn has coasted through life letting his father and brothers do the heavy lifting. Recent events, particularly the rise of dark elements in the world, have forced him to step out of the shadows and take on new responsibilities.

Torbjorn's most recent forays into the world found him taking command of the assembled Vadurkin forces in the Iron Hills as their Fylkyr, or battle commander, as they faced the orcs and the undead. Later, in the defense of their holiest of cities, Torbjorn resumed his role as a Fylkyr at the direction of Konurgr Geir, who ordered the siege of Divinfalls lifted at all costs.

Today, Torbjorn reorganizes the might of the north, while the warriors of the Vadurkin lick their wounds and follow his gaze south, where retribution awaits.
