The Vadurkin Clans
Strength, Honor, Kin
For as long as anyone can remember, the Vadurkin have been the Lords of the North. The harsh landscape created a people as hardy as the mountains they call home. To most outsiders they are little more than barbarians and raiders, those who know better see them for their complex culture of warriors, hunters, craftspeople, and storytellers.
Following the arrival of the Hadrians in the March, the Vadurkin descended into civil war. This Kinstrife, as it became to be known, tore through the North for a decade. Wishing an end to the violence, and in the face of numerous new threats, the Vadurkin elected their first Konurgr in a century, Geir of the Magtvaeg Clan. Under new leadership and with renewed vigor the proud people of the North re-entered the new international stage that is the March.

Religious Beliefs
For the Vadurkin, the Gods are in all facets of life. From king to warrior to farmer, everyone shows respect and veneration of the Gods of the Vadurkin. Their gods embody concepts and natural forces. The Vadurkin see all things as part of a cycle and believe everything they pour into this life will be reborn in the next.
Social Structure and Leadership
The clans of the Vadurkin hold much of the power in society. Warriors and others swear loyalty to a Jarl but they only hold power for as long as they serve the interests of the clan. The Vadurkin value strength and competency and it isn’t uncommon for someone to rise in position based on deeds and ability. While rivalries and grudges may exist across the North, no Vadurkin would lightly stand against a Crone or refuse them hospitality.
Relationship with the March
Life in the Snostein Mountains is difficult and the people who live there must be tough and capable to survive. For centuries the Vadurkin have raided the northern Rivlan villages and cities, taking food, livestock, and other valuables back to their holds in the north. This has led to a longstanding animosity between the two peoples.
Now after the Kinstrife, and with the world changing around them they tread more carefully than before. Their potential enemies are more numerous and some of them not even human.
Goals
Above all the Vadurkin wish to maintain a free North. New cultures arriving in the March claiming lands, monsters and undead, prophecies of an impending doom. These are all dangerous and troubling changes to the March but to the Vadurkin they also offer opportunity. New threats offer a chance for glory and new people offer new opportunities for trade and silver.
